Tarlton completed a concrete transformation to the original timber wood bridge that connects a main walking path through the Climatron®, a popular attraction at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis. The team used BIM methods to fabricate and precast concrete planks of varied lengths, using 28 different forms and a special concrete mix that mimics wood grain. Because of the materials and methods used, the bridge will serve visitors for years to come.
The project received a 2017 Quality Concrete Award from the Concrete Council of St. Louis.
