Tarlton completed a design-build renovation for the Hawthorn Leadership School for Girls, accommodating additional students as the school grows to full enrollment of approximately 450 girls in 2020. The remodel and fit-out of the basement and third floor created new spaces including specialized classrooms for art, dance, music and chemistry, plus a restroom and locker room.
Following Tarlton’s initial renovation of a dormant school building, Hawthorn opened with grades 6 and 7 in the 2015-16 school year and has continued to add a new 6th grade each year. The only public all-girls school in Missouri will eventually serve girls in grades 6 to 12, focusing on STEM education.
