Tarlton provided preconstruction and construction management services for a new single-story, 37,000 sf stand-alone cancer center. The interior spaces include exam rooms, clinic space, offices, blood draw with laboratory, infusion area and pharmacy. The I-2 area includes a CT Simulator and one linear accelerator, with accommodations for a second if/when the need arises. The development of the nine acre site included installation of a 41,000 cubic foot storm detention system, several bioretention areas, parking, a healing garden, and relocation and replacement of an open storm channel.
In conjunction with this project, Tarlton and BJC HealthCare at Christian Northwest launched a pilot construction/healthcare careers initiative program called “Thinking Beyond Today.” The objective was to partner with organizations focused on construction and healthcare careers to build a network for recruitment, training and career development.
The Career Resource Center, housed in a trailer at the site, was open on specific days when professionals in construction and healthcare were able to share knowledge and resources with high school students and community agencies about career opportunities in our respective industries.
