In 2011 Tarlton renovated an existing 962 sf potent compound research lab for a St. Louis-based pharmaceuticals manufacturer. The project involved selective demolition, asbestos abatement, new interior finishes and upgrades to the HVAC system to accommodate new fume hoods. Tarlton self-performed demolition, casework installation, drywall and ceilings.
The project was constructed in two phases to maintain operations in half the space while the other half was being completed.
The owner required all team members to receive Qualified Person training, and all project activities complied with strict procedures related to potent compounds. The project engineer developed 6-week look-ahead schedules updated weekly, and the team fully utilized newly available project management technologies.
