Pfizer’s Chesterfield campus required major revisions to utility infrastructure to support future site development including the increased electrical demands of two new buildings.
Pfizer hired Tarlton to develop an integrated construction management system with the ultimate goal of creating a master plan for all site utilities. Major elements are a campus-wide chilled water system, a total upgrade of the power distribution system, a standby generation system, and major renovation of the campus steam plant.
Despite weather delays and problems shipping critical equipment, the project was completed under budget and six months ahead of schedule. The project won a 2008 Construction Industry Best Practices Award for Zero Accident Techniques from the St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers. Shown is the hard hat sticker workers received after mandatory site-specific safety training.
