Erection of components of pedestrian bridge connected to Clinical Sciences Research Building

Washington University School of Medicine Pedestrian Bridge

Tarlton constructed a pedestrian bridge connecting the Clinical Sciences Research Building (CSRB) to the Northwest Tower and Children's Hospital rotunda entrance, on the campus of Washington University School of Medicine.

The L-shaped connector is essentially two bridges, one 100 feet long, the other 170 feet long. The project, constructed above traffic, involved cutting holes through walls and removing precast panels. Carbon fiber was used to reinforce a section of the CSRB concrete wall where the new bridge penetrated the building.
