Tarlton completed this project for the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), which is responsible for ensuring that the nation’s commercial supply of meat, poultry, and egg products is safe, wholesome, and correctly labeled and packaged.
The project required removal of old flooring in the existing laboratory areas, and installation of approximately 30,000 sf of new access flooring. The project was sequenced in 23 distinct phases to allow normal lab operations during the removal and replacement of the raised flooring. Tarlton completed the work ahead of the GSA’s schedule.
Tarlton self-performed demolition of the existing flooring and casework, and also provided clean-up and carpentry assistance during the project. Carpentry assistance included bracing/supporting of walls built on top of the raised floor system.
