Tarlton has renovated office floors 6-12 of the 21-story, 2.1 million sf Railway Exchange Building in downtown St. Louis, for both the May Company and then for Federated Department Stores. Tarlton had ealier renovated the Famous Barr department store on floors 1-5, in the process developing an effective working relationship and knowledge of this 100-year old building.

Since that work, Tarlton delivered a short-duration, phased renovation involving offices, conference rooms and break rooms on the 8th floor. Work on other floors included fire protection, electrical, acoustical ceilings, walls, millwork, and some plumbing and HVAC work. These projects affected over 125,000 sf of space, reworking existing building systems and providing distribution and equipment additions for new office layouts.
